Inspirata to Offer QualityStar Case Reviews and Quality Intelligence Services Through its Diagnostic Cockpit and Consultation Portal
Tampa, FL (PRWEB) May 02, 2017 -- Cancer diagnostics and pathology workflow solution provider Inspirata®, Inc. announced today that it has signed an agreement with QualityStar, LLC to integrate that company’s quality assurance review and quality intelligence services into Inspirata’s anatomic pathology Diagnostic Cockpit and cloud-based telepathology Consultation Portal.
Referred to as “Quality-as-a-Service” (QaaS) for Anatomic Pathology, this unique alternative to in-house quality assurance and case review can be launched through Inspirata’s Diagnostic Cockpit and Consultation Portal. Inspirata’s goal is to facilitate a more rapid and accurate diagnosis in busy pathology departments that may not have the subspecialty expertise or time to conduct the required QA reviews internally.
QaaS helps by enabling external QA reviews to save pathologists’ time, improve diagnostic quality and mitigate the risk of misdiagnosis. The services are provided by subspecialty pathologists working at NCI-designated cancer centers and academic medical centers in the U.S. They cover every tissue type, are double-blinded for pathologist confidentiality and are offered through a secure, HIPAA compliant cloud-based system.
An added benefit of the QA and case review service is a Practice Proficiency Score™ (PPS) derived through QualityStar’s Quality Intelligence Services. The PPS enables pathology departments to track their pathologists’ performance against peer groups. Internal pathologists are measured for longitudinal proficiency and are given expert feedback for continuous improvement and professional development. It also helps pathologists meet certification and CME requirements while gaining valuable clinical quality insights.
“Providing a seamless integration to QualityStar’s subspecialty QA review further enhances our single-sign-on Diagnostic Cockpit that enables pathologists to comprehensively review and sign out cases,” says Inspirata CEO, Satish Sanan. “This is just one more way to save time, help with CMS reimbursement and, most importantly, improve diagnostic proficiency.”
“We are delighted QaaS can be offered as a part of Inspirata’s comprehensive digital pathology workflow solution,” says QualityStar President Monique Spence. “The QualityStar QA consortium supports the shift to outcome-based practices and helps to ensure that pathology departments can gain fast and reliable access to external subspecialty experts who offer a seamless and impartial alternative to internal quality assurance processes—without adding to the pathologist’s workload.”
