We believe clean energy and functional plant-based beverages that taste delicious are what today’s consumers will increasingly reach out for to complement their meals and for on-the-go refreshment.

Califia Farms, the number one nutmilk and refrigerated RTD cold brew coffee brand in the natural channel, announced that two new flavors of Better Half, its popular dairy-free alternative to Half & Half will be unveiled at this week’s National Restaurant Association Show in Chicago, IL. The new Better Half flavors, Vanilla and Hazelnut, complement the company’s broad selection of premium, plant-based, clear-label creamers – including Barista Blend, the go-to nutmilk alternative for specialty coffee houses from LA to NYC.

The company also announced a partnership with national distributor Dot Foods that makes all of its plant-based products readily available to foodservice customers across the US – whether they are seeking dairy-free, meal complement beverages, plant-based ingredients for applications that appeal to today’s health-conscious consumers or delicious, premium, grab-n-go cold brew coffee for their beverage well.

“Forward thinking, progressive Fast Casual and QSR operators have picked up on the huge shift in food and beverage trends and understand how much consumers value transparency in the ingredients that make up their food choices in everything from origin and functionality to the calories and sugar they contain,” said Greg Steltenpohl, Califia Farms’ CEO. “We believe clean energy and functional plant-based beverages that taste delicious are what today’s consumers will increasingly reach out for to complement their meals and for on-the-go refreshment.”

Unlike traditional non-dairy creamers that are laden with hydrogenated oils and artificial chemicals – ingredients that don’t appeal to today’s health-conscious consumers - Califia’s premium and delicious coffee creamers are made with nut creams, versus ‘bad-for-you’ oils, and are free of dairy, soy, GMOs, gluten, trans-fat and excess sugars. Califia Farms Almondmilk creamers are formulated with coconut cream, which naturally adds creaminess and sweetness, while enhancing whitening.

Premium national chains like Pret-A-Manger and Le Pain Quotidien have already adopted Califia Farms’ plant-based nutmilks and creamers, including the recently launched Organic Homestyle line, in various applications.

The new Better Half flavors, along with Califia’s entire line of nut-based, alternative creamers, including foodservice favorite Barista Blend – which is designed for superior steaming and creating great latte art – will be sampled in the ‘Organic and Natural’ pavilion at the NRA Show in booth 10837. The company’s best-selling single-serve, premium RTD cold brew coffees will also be sampled, including XX Espresso and Salted Caramel, as will its functional RTD Protein Almondmilks and California citrus juices.
