Columbia Pacific Wealth Management (CPWM) announces today the launching of its first office outside of its Seattle headquarters in San Francisco. The new office signals an expansion of the company’s reach into California, bringing the firm’s regulatory assets to approximately $3 billion.

Craige Bertero and Daniel Damond will run the office, which opened May 1, 2017. Bertero and Damond both are making the move from JP Morgan to join as Partners of CPWM. “The move to expand into the Bay Area was not simply a geographical move; rather an opportunistic situation with the new partners,” says Peder Schmitz, CPWM Cofounder. “We were seeking the right partnership to expand beyond our Pacific Northwest roots and found that in our new team to head the San Francisco office.”

CPWM is part of the larger family of companies founded by Dan Baty and is dedicated to working with its client base seeking tailored solutions to preserve, build, and transition wealth. “Year over year growth for our company has been beyond our expectation,” says Schmitz. “We believe this tremendous growth is due in part because people are recognizing that we bring a different approach to investing and wealth management. Having a direct relationship with Columbia Pacific Advisors and the investments associated with our Cofounder Dan Baty has really helped accelerate our growth.”

The company’s annual growth since its inception some 6 years ago has positioned them in InvestmentNews as the third “Biggest Gainers” in 2015 for RIAs with $1B+ in total assets, citing a 269.6 percentage growth rate over the previous year. “This growth is fueling our expansion into other markets,” says Alex Washburn, Cofounder of CPWM. “We are however, not looking to expand too rapidly or extensively. We plan to look at opportunities as they arise, as we did with San Francisco, and grow at a smart and measured manner. Our main goal is to focus on our investors and deliver the results they are looking to achieve.”

The new office is located at 100 Pine Street, Suite 2700, San Francisco, CA, 94111.

About Columbia Pacific Wealth Management
Columbia Pacific Wealth Management (CPWM) is an independent, SEC Registered Investment Adviser founded in Seattle in 2011. The company provides comprehensive wealth management solutions and access to unique investment opportunities for high net worth individuals, institutions, foundations and endowments. Company History
Our roots stem back more than 25 years when our sister company Columbia Pacific Management (CPM) was founded by Daniel Baty, a healthcare entrepreneur. In 2006, CPM launched Columbia Pacific Advisors (CPA), an alternative investment platform specifically for the Baty family and a select number of high net worth investors.

Tapping into this proven experience, CPM and CPA saw a void in high net worth investing and formed Columbia Pacific Wealth Management (CPWM) in 2011. CPWM assembled a team of experienced professionals to create a comprehensive wealth management firm while maintaining a boutique feel. On May 1, 2017 CPWM expanded into San Francisco and launched its first satellite office.
