Fundraising Company Achieves More Than 95 Percent Market Share With Acquisition of Chicago-Based Competitor
Grand Rapids, Michigan (PRWEB) May 02, 2017 -- West Michigan based, Great Lakes Scrip Center (GLSC) announced today the acquisition of The Manna Group of Illinois after months of negotiations. GLSC’s extensive growth in the past several years is due to their advanced e-commerce offerings, direct connections with big-name retailers and established industry presence. The acquisition gives Great Lakes Scrip Center more than a 95 percent market share with its scrip fundraising program, ShopWithScrip. This will also add an additional 800 organizations to the program, and is GLSC’s second acquisition in the past two years.
“Relationships with the largest national retailers have been a priority since our company was founded more than 22 years ago. The transition of The Manna Group customers to ShopWithScrip will ensure continued growth for our retail partners,” said Great Lakes Scrip Center Vice President of Retail Partnerships, Jill Whalen. “We work closely with over 750 major retail brands such as Starbucks, Target, Whole Foods, Walmart, and Speedway. With so many retailers, customers are able to use scrip on all their grocery, gas, dining, travel and home improvement purchases.”
The ShopWithScrip fundraising program is the largest gift card fundraising program in the USA. Scrip is fundraising while you shop®. Unlike other fundraisers where you have to devote time to selling products or asking for donations, with scrip, you raise money by purchasing gift cards on ShopWithScrip.com. These gift cards all have a rebate percentage on them, normally between 2 percent and 16 percent, which is the amount that will go directly to your organization when the card is purchased at face value.
“As electronic gift card products become more important in scrip fundraising, the result of our extensive offering of eGift cards and reloads is increased fundraising for our nonprofit customers and more sales for retailers in the program,” said Whalen.
Over the past two decades, ShopWithScrip has contributed to fundraising initiatives for over 30,000 organizations, raising over $570 million. The ShopWithScrip process is simplified below:
- Organizations sign up to become a ShopWithScrip customer.
- Organizations earn money on the gift card purchases. This money goes towards organization’s fundraising initiatives.
- ShopWithScrip delivers the organization’s purchased gift cards.
ShopWithScrip will fulfill The Manna Group orders beginning May 8, 2017 with customers enrolling on ShopWithScrip by June 5, 2017 at: shop.shopwithscrip.com/StartProgram/OrgEnrollment.
“We are working closely with The Manna Group to ensure customers are aware of the changes and know what to expect. We have a long history of providing coaching and training to the more than 30,000 organizations we’ve helped raise money over the years, and we will be available to The Manna Group customers both during the transition and going forward as they add features available on ShopWithScrip to grow their fundraising,” said Whalen.
