“We know from the data that the middle school to high school transition can be very hard for kids as they face changes and challenges, including making more of their own choices on studying and sports. Our program gives kids and their families the choice to take a year off to focus on their athletics and academics before diving head-long into high school,” says Adam Sear who directs the Personal Development Year program at Sports Academy.

Sports Academy is a state of the art athletic and human performance center located in a 96,000 square foot facility in Thousand Oaks. Sports Academy Foundation is a separate, nonprofit, 501c3 foundation dedicated to helping Southern California athletes reach their full potential, including at-risk youth and veterans returning from military service.
