Pioneering HD updates launched for the AngioVue OCT-A system
Harlow, Essex (PRWEB UK) 5 May 2017 -- Haag-Streit UK (HS-UK), the leading manufacturer and distributor of gold-standard optometry and ophthalmic equipment, is pleased to announce the launch of AngioVueHD imaging. This high density OCT Angiography (OCT-A) imaging will provide significant improvement in the resolution and peripheral visualisation of vasculature in the eye.
AngioVue HD imaging provides OCT-A scans with 73% more sampling points, providing the user with a 6mm x 6mm scan with outstanding resolution. It also improves image resolution by approximately 33% over the existing field-of-view. The improvements enable physicians to more closely assess the fine vasculature in the eye for changes which could indicate ocular disease.
In conjunction with the launch of HD imaging, Optovue have also launched AngioVueHD Montage. This technology automatically combines two HD images, one at the central macula region and the other centred at the optic disc in a 10mm x 6mm field-of-view. The ability to automatically create the montage is useful for imaging vasculature in potential pathologies that may extend into the periphery of the imaging plane.
The HD imaging and HD montage technologies improve efficiency and patient comfort by reducing scan times to just five seconds. As part of the HD updates, the system also features new ultra-fast retina scans with reduced speckle-noise, which provide a comprehensive structural analysis.
Jacqui Kenyon, HS-UK Product Manager, said, “AngioVueHD will change the way in which physicians can use OCT-A technology to diagnose patients. This is the first HD OCT-A technology available in the market and Optovue have once again shown that they are a global leader in the OCT-A field.”
AngioVue HD and HD Montage are available now. For more information, please call Haag-Streit UK on (01279) 883807 or email angiovue(at)haag-streit-uk(dot)com.
