OpenIAM introduces new functionality to its OpenIAM Identity Management solution to significantly simplify the administration of users and licenses for companies which need to manage both an on-premise Microsoft Active Directory and Exchange infrastructure as well as a Microsoft Office365 (O365) infrastructure.
Many mid to large organizations are migrating to Microsoft’s O365 environment. As they migrate, they have to maintain two environments. While tools such as Microsoft’s DirSync and Azure AD Connect are available to sync identities between on-premise and cloud environments, there is still a significant effort for the technology teams when it comes to:
*Managing users in both environments while administration teams are required to use two separate interfaces to manage each environment
*Granting licenses and managing entitlements within O365
*Audit and Compliance
*Implementing a robust leavers/de-provisioning process
Using OpenIAM’s Identity Manager with O365 integration, organizations have been able to successfully manage a hybrid environment. Some of the immediate benefits include:
*Rule or Role based provisioning of mailboxes, whether on-premise or in the cloud
*Bi-directional switching between cloud and on-premise for existing accounts
*Entitlement management within the O365 subscription (controlling if a person should be entitled to the various features which are available such as Yammer, Sharepoint Online, Intune, etc.)
*Audit and compliance in a centralized solution
*Robust de-provisioning (aka Leavers) process which addresses both on-premise and cloud requirements
