Gregory Michaelidis, a former Department of Homeland Security advisor on cybersecurity issues in the Obama Administration, has joined CommCore as a cybersecurity communications consultant.
Michaelidis will work with CommCore’s crisis team to assess the communications readiness of organizations to anticipate and respond to cybersecurity attacks, data breaches, and other security incidents. He will also provide crisis counsel and assistance for media and internal and external stakeholder communications.

In the Obama Administration, Michaelidis focused on cybersecurity, counterterrorism, and community resilience communications at the Department of Homeland Security. He previously served as Director of Speechwriting at DHS. Before that, Michaelidis spent a decade developing policy campaigns at a major public research university, think tanks, and a public affairs firm.
He is a Cybersecurity Initiative Fellow at New America and a Truman National Security Fellow. He also holds BA and MA degrees from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a PhD in history from the University of Maryland, College Park.
