Azam Mirza, Akorbi’s President and co-founder, was accepted into an intensive five-day program jointly sponsored by KPMG LLP and the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. The QuantumShift class is open to only a few dozen U.S. based, high-growth companies each year. Participants are chosen based on criteria such as overall revenue, speed of expansion, visionary leadership and obvious potential for even greater success.
Azam joined fellow entrepreneurs for a rigorous learning, networking and collaboration program featuring peer-to-peer interaction, as well as instruction from academic experts and leading industry professionals. Those candidates who complete the program will become part of the Fellows Network and have ongoing access to a circle of peers offering support, insight, mentorship and development.
Being accepted into the program is both a significant business achievement and an opportunity to accelerate Akorbi’s growth plans. According to Azam, “This opportunity could not have come at a better time. We have aggressive plans to increase the value of our company and continue creating more jobs in underserved regions of the world. It’s very exciting to connect with other business owners and learn from their experiences. I also plan to share my many entrepreneurial lessons learned in growing a global company, which now employs almost 1,000 people in 17 cities around the world.”
As President and co-founder of the world’s 3rd fastest growing Language Services Provider, with 1,267% growth in the last five years, the Admissions Committee found Azam to be a strong candidate for the program.
“We were impressed by Akorbi’s fast growth in recent years under Azam Mirza’s strong leadership, and we believe it is vital to acknowledge and foster it,” said Brian Hughes, National Leader, KPMG LLP’s Private Markets Group. “Azam’s vision and impressive leadership skills, as head of a fast-growing, global company, are what we seek to cultivate in our QuantumShift program.”
Azam credits all members of the company’s leadership for helping him earn this opportunity.
According to Azam, “What makes our company and management team successful is that we all share the same values and vision, and we are also committed to achieving the same business goals. We are fortunate to have some of the brightest minds leading our company and taking it to the next level.”
This strong collaborative focus has yielded impressive and measurable results. In the last five years, Akorbi has grown rapidly through the addition of complementary services including learning services, multilingual contact centers, staffing and interpretation.
