Millennials are now America’s largest and most racially diverse generation representing over $1 trillion in direct buying power and, with their use of social media, have become a huge influence on older generations as well. They are the biggest consumer demographic and their spending ability is just beginning to grow. User experience has consistently come up at the top of many surveys regarding millennial attitudes towards shopping with Eventbrite reporting that 78% of millennials would rather spend money on an experience than things. Retailers can cash in on this by showcasing how various products come together to help shoppers build the life they want through specific projects that fit their lifestyles.
