“Our whole team has put a lot of work into this latest version of Cockpit,” says David Cronin, CEO of Cognition. “We’re thrilled to finally be able to release it to our customers.”
With new features, functionality, and expanded browser support, this release greater enables Cockpit users to leverage the platform during product development. This latest version release, says Mr. Cronin, further empowers product development teams in their design controls and risk management exercises.
One of the biggest updates to Cockpit in version 9.0 is expanded browser support. Cockpit is now supported in Google Chrome, on both Windows and Mac platforms. Cockpit has also been updated to work with Internet Explorer versions 10 and 11. Teams now have greater flexibility in both what browsers and computing platforms they use.
Other large-scale changes include server-side PDF and Word export along with easier Windchill and Agile PLM export and expanded PDF functionality. Version 9.0 also introduces an updated Rich Text Editor, offering a better user experience.
“We’ve also made improvements to the user interface, database size and performance, among other things,” says Bridgette Mentzer, Cockpit Platform Development Manager, “along with other features that better support Cockpit configuration.”
