VoteRunLead.org Joins The United State of Women as it Launches Galvanize Program to Engage Women in Local Communities
(PRWEB) May 13, 2017 -- VoteRunLead.org, a nonpartisan training powerhouse for women, is pleased to join The United State of Women (USOW) as they launch the Galvanize Program, a nationwide effort geared towards turning the raw passion of women across the country into strategic action in local communities. The USOW will host several mini-summits across the country this year with events in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Atlanta, Georgia, Chicago, Illinois, Columbus, Ohio, Miami, Florida, and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. VoteRunLead.org will present the topic of empowering women to run for political office and how to prepare to be a political candidate through its very popular Run As You Are workshop series.
Valerie Jarrett, who served as President Obama's senior adviser and as director of the Office of Public Engagement and Intergovernmental Affairs at the White House (2009-2017), released an open letter to the more than 5,000 attendees of last year’s United State of Women summit urging them to come together in their communities to keep organizing, to run for office, or to begin the journey to starting a business.
“The attendees at the United State of Women Summit last year made it clear that they wanted to keep learning, connecting and advocating beyond that room – they wanted to do it in their own communities,” said Jordan Brooks, managing director of USOW. “The Galvanize Program answers that call and will empower women across the country with the tools they need to be engaged, vocal advocates in elections and public policy debates both nationally and in their own backyards.”

The Galvanize Program will allow participants to explore gender equality issues and a broad set of national and local policies that impact women and their communities. Attendees will choose a track based on their interests to receive in-depth and skills-based training developed by nationwide partner organizations. Each participant will leave the Galvanize Program empowered with tools and connections to continue their work for equality in their local community and prepared to become the next generation of female leaders.
The Galvanize Program includes workshops on:

• Entrepreneurship - BRAVA
After each Galvanize Program, USOW, in conjunction with 3K1A Strategies, will host an Engagement Fair for attendees to network with local organizations, non-profits, corporations, labor unions, and small businesses to turn their passion into action.
VoteRunLead.org will be a part of the Galvanize Program at six mini-summits in 2017 with new cities added in 2018. Those locations are:

• Atlanta, Georgia: September 9-10 - Honorary chair John Lewis -- Chair Minority Leader Representative Stacey Abrams

• Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: January 2018
