Greenberg Traurig’s Leslie Katz Speaks at the Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs Festival
(PRWEB) May 11, 2017 -- Global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Leslie R. Katz spoke at the 2017 Silicon Valley Entrepreneurs Festival (SVEF) in Santa Clara, May 2. She participated on the “Global Female Entrepreneurship and Leadership” panel, addressing the importance of women’s leadership in today’s business world.
Co-hosted by Hanhai Holdings Group, Silicon Valley Ding Ding TV, and China-US Enterprises Summit, the 2017 SVEF brought more than 1,000 industry leaders, venture capitalists, startup founders, incubators, and Chinese government officials together to exchange ideas about global entrepreneurship and to foster collaboration. The panels covered everything from AR/VR, IoT, new energy, and new materials to US-China business opportunities, cross-border investment, cloud computing, and big data. Katz, a shareholder in the firm’s San-Francisco office, focuses on government law and policy, including energy, telecommunications, healthcare, emerging technology, land use, construction, infrastructure, development, and public-private partnerships. Her ability to provide strategic counsel, for startups to Fortune 500 companies and public entities, comes from her diverse experience in the public and private sectors. Katz is also very involved in the local Bay Area community and was recently recognized among the Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business by the San Francisco Business Times
A former member of the Board of Supervisors for the City and County of San Francisco, Katz served as chair and/or vice chair of numerous committees, drafting and helping pass significant legislation related to technology, the environment, economic development, labor, and human rights. She was also elected to the San Francisco Community College Board of Trustees and has served on the Port Commission of San Francisco. Katz earned her J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, and her B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley.
