Evergreen-- 100% curbside recyclable packaging

Pharmacy Advantage is proud to announce that effective April 3, 2017 all shipping material utilized by the organization is fully recyclable. Resulting from a 3 year product research and development initiative with Tryco, Inc., this packaging was generated to help eliminate additional refuse entering the waste system while maintaining a reliable solution for delivering temperature sensitive prescriptions.

Unlike other packaging options, Evergreen is the only box liner comprised entirely of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) or more commonly known as recycled plastic bottles. Plus, it is the only commercially available shipping product that can be reused and recycled.

Pharmacy Advantage understands that maintaining shipment temperatures to safeguard medication efficacy is crucial to therapeutic outcomes and customer satisfaction. By using Evergreen, they can cushion, protect, and preserve temperatures with fewer refrigerant packs than other non-PET materials. Custom engineering concepts built into this liner virtually eliminates air gaps and meets tight heat tolerances, securing optimal thermal performance for up to 72 hours.

“Our company not only values the community we serve but also aspires to keep that community clean for generations to come,” says Douglas Samojedny, RPh Director of Operations at Pharmacy Advantage. “No more styrofoam coolers to throw away, our new thermal lined containers are eco-friendly and 100% curbside recyclable. We are proud to be the first pharmacy in the nation utilizing this solution as a means to remove additional landfill waste and do our part for a greener tomorrow.”

“Tryco has worked hard to create Evergreen, a zero waste stream product that insulates as well as, or better than other green alternatives in the market place," states Mike Miller, Owner of Tryco. “This packaging will help shape the cold-chain industry as many national health care organizations are currently seeking out methods to reduce their impact on the earth. We are dedicated to decreasing our waste footprint and helping save the planet!”
