Mission Critical Services (MSC) ensure the reliability of wireless communications services used for public safety by first responders such as police, firefighters, and medical emergency personnel. Mission critical services include mission critical push to talk (MCPTT) services, mission critical data (MCData) services, and mission critical video (MCVideo) services. The 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) has developed a series of technical specifications to standardize mission critical services.
Ofinno's whitepaper provides an overview of the mission critical services (MCS) and 3GPP standardization of MCS in LTE and its evolution in the 5th generation (5G) wireless networks.
