Building on the success of its in-mall mobile retail platform in more than 150 shopping centers nationwide, StepsAway today announced its expansion beyond malls with the debut of its data-driven SAKairos™ mobile solution. Designed for brick-and-mortar retail stores – mall-based and standalone locations – SAKairos utilizes retailers’ customer database analytics as well as individual stores’ Wi-Fi streaming data to generate and send real-time, personalized offers to shoppers’ smartphones.

Using SAKairos to increase customer engagement and loyalty, participating retailers invite customers to log onto their guest Wi-Fi network, who then provide their email address. Once authenticated on the network, shoppers are redirected to a web app. They will then receive tailored offers in real time based on their purchase and engagement history contained in the retailer’s CRM database, and the retailer will be able to leverage Wi-Fi streaming data such as previous customer store visits, device type, and country of origin, as well as measure marketing campaign effectiveness. As an example, if a shopper has already registered on the retailer’s website and abandoned a pair of shoes in an online shopping cart, they may automatically receive an offer for 20% off shoes via SAKairos when they visit the brand’s physical store.    

The new SAKairos solution is a complementary extension of StepsAway’s flagship cloud-based platform, SAConnect™, which allows national retailers to create and deliver promotions across multiple mall properties and mall owners, from their corporate headquarters on a single platform. The company’s browser-based mobile solution, SAMobile™, provides shoppers smartphone access to hyperlocal in-store offers accessible via participating malls’ Wi-Fi networks. StepsAway’s browser-based apps are compatible on any Wi-Fi enabled device and do not require a download.
