"It took a team effort from coming up with the concept, to building it, to ultimately adding the final touches and the attention to detail to tie it all together.”

Ameritex Movers, a local moving company, took home a first-place prize for single booth display May 18 at the Houston Apartment Association Education Conference and Expo. The annual event is the largest local apartment association expo in the country.
Ameritex Movers’ winning booth featured a cityscape of Houston made out of cardboard. The structure includes a display of skyscrapers, the George R. Brown Convention Center and Discovery Green.
Beth Rohani, owner of Ameritex Movers, said the winning design took four people over 125 hours and 700 sticks of hot glue to create.
"Excited doesn't even describe how thrilled we are to win,” Rohani said. “It definitely displays our creativity and ability to think outside the box! It took a team effort from coming up with the concept, to building it, to ultimately adding the final touches and the attention to detail to tie it all together.”
“Walt Disney said it best... this project was a great team building experience that exemplifies, ‘If you can dream it, you can do it,’" Rohani said.
The HAA Education Conference and Expo featured a trade show full of vendors and seminars from industry experts Joel Zeff, Jackie Ramstedt, Mark Cukro, Stephanie Graves, and others. This year’s theme was “It Starts Here: Attitude, Behavior, and Results.”
