In the session entitled, ‘‘Delivering an Online Master's Degree Program on Open edX,’ Nazeeri will share details of the first known online degree program built on the Open edX platform.
The presentation spotlights a leading U.S. university’s online graduate degree program. ExtensionEngine is helping the university in create a one-of-a-kind learning experience based on Open edX, complemented with custom software and integrated with commercial software applications, to allow for a highly social, easy-to-use, engaging learning experience. It is believed that this is the first online degreed program using Open edX as its core learning management system.
The conference takes place this week at the Universidad Carlos III in Madrid, with Nazeeri’s presentation scheduled for Thursday, May 25 at 2:25pm. With attendees representing 27 countries, the Open edX Conference is focused on sharing knowledge among members of the global Open edX community and will highlight innovative uses across higher education, training and lifelong learning, instructional design and course production techniques, and methods for operating, extending and enhancing the Open edX platform. Open edX is a learning experience platform originally created by edX, a nonprofit online initiative created by Harvard and MIT and composed of dozens of leading global institutions.
