CaterTrax Enhances Platform to Prepare Clients for FDA Compliance Deadline
Rochester, NY (PRWEB) June 01, 2017 -- CaterTrax has been working with clients to get calories on their menu in preparation for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s (FDA) final rule on menu labeling requirements. In the coming weeks, available nutritional features and functionality introduced in support of this legislation will be bundled with additional software enhancements geared toward improving the customer experience.
CaterTrax began development of “TRAXTrition” to prepare clients for the original compliance deadline set for December 1, 2016. While the U.S. compliance date was pushed back to May 5, 2017, Canada enforced a similar law on January 1st of this year. Foodservice operators out of Canada were able to leverage TRAXTrition to align with regulations by their deadline.
In May, the FDA announced they would further extend the compliance deadline an additional year, slating May 7th, 2018 as the new date. The FDA said the extension “allows for further consideration of what opportunities there may be to reduce costs and enhance the flexibility of these requirements beyond those reflected in the final rule.” Despite the expanded time frame, many CaterTrax partners are still marching towards corporate-wide compliance within the next few months, considering it an improvement to their customers’ experience.
CaterTrax has been making a focused effort to enhance their clients’ web presence by creating an experience geared towards growing business. CaterTrax is bundling TRAXTrition with a user-friendly menu navigation system. It showcases e-commerce best practices and attribute-based navigation built to expedite and simplify the menu exploration and ordering process. In the coming months, existing clients will have the option to transition to a newly designed website with customizable features that better aligns with market needs surveyed by the company. The entire bundle will be the standard offer for all new clients when launched.
TRAXTrition includes the ability to display additional nutritional values beyond the current legal requirements to best position their clients and partners for a progressively nutrition focused industry. Dan Welch, CIO and Cofounder of CaterTrax said, “Our vision is to power every catering operation in the Non-Commercial Foodservice Industry, which we can accomplish by truly partnering with those we serve and offering the necessary tools to support their on-going success in the face of changing government regulations and market needs.”
