CNAs are the unsung heroes of the healthcare field.
Chicago, Illinois (PRWEB) May 31, 2017
Caregiverlist and Midwestern Career College will hold a Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) Awareness Day on Friday, June 16, 2017, for certified nursing assistants and senior caregivers in the Chicago area. The free event coincides with the 40th Annual National Nursing Assistants Week.
During the event, CNAs and caregivers will have the opportunity to learn about caregiver and CNA career paths, meet other caregivers and senior care companies, and attend skill-advancing workshops. Free food, training, entertainment, and prizes will also be provided to thank professional caregivers for their service in improving the daily lives of their patients and senior care clients.
More than 10,000 baby boomers turn 65 years old every day, and the need for qualified professional caregivers will increase to unprecedented levels in the coming years. Because approximately 70% of people over the age of 65 will require some form of long term care services and support during their lives, Certified Nursing Assistants and home health aides are among the top five fastest growing occupations in the U.S. CNA Awareness Day was created to support the thousands professional caregivers providing in-home care as well as in the state’s over 800 nursing homes. It is also an occasion to invite more people to explore this fulfilling career path.
“CNAs are the unsung heroes of the healthcare field. Midwestern Career College is very pleased to partner with Caregiverlist on this event as a way of expressing our appreciation for CNAs in the Chicagoland area,” says Jeremy Oberfeld, CEO of Midwestern Career College.
When: Friday, June 16, 2017, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The morning session of workshops from 9:00 a.m. to noon will be repeated in the afternoon from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
