Local Private School is now NCAA Scholarship Accredited

Lee’s Summit Academy is now approved for NCAA scholarship eligibility. The NCAA examined LSA’s curriculum, graduation statistics, and other data to ensure that LSA met academic requirements along with other standards.

LSA students actively pursuing sports through clubs and other associations can be academically eligible to play college sports and receive scholarships as freshmen. Before this approval, students and families were forced to make a difficult decision: leave LSA to attend an NCAA-approved school or their student-athlete would be academically ineligible during their first year in college.

Because of the NCAA approval, seniors entering LSA for the 2017-2018 school year will be eligible for college sports scholarships.

Wayne Houts’ son is enrolled in LSA as a sophomore this year, and he is a serious soccer player hoping to obtain a scholarship and play college ball. Houts says, “Finding out that LSA is now NCAA approved is a great relief to our family. Now Cameron can continue attending the school he loves knowing that he will be academically eligible because of this new status.”

Located on Libby Lane off Chipman Road in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, Lee's Summit Academy offers K-12 classes, a day care, and a Montessori preschool.
