“Lift Your Spirits" Video Campaign Captures Energy of Lehigh Valley

Discover Lehigh Valley® launches video marketing campaign to drive tourism in the area

Discover Lehigh Valley®, a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting tourism to Lehigh and Northampton counties, today unveiled four new promotional videos showcasing the passion and craftsmanship found in Lehigh Valley at its 7th Annual Tourism Marketing Day. The meeting held at Cedar Crest College in Allentown, Pa. boasted more than 115 marketing and sales professionals from the region’s top area attractions, restaurants, and businesses where leaders met to discuss the current state of tourism in Lehigh Valley and learn the latest industry marketing trends.

The summer marketing campaign showcases a new video series that features several of the different attributes to a Lehigh Valley travel experience. The digital videos spotlight ‘The Arts’ at the Banana Factory Arts Center in Bethlehem, Pa.; ‘Family Fun’ at the Crayola Experience in Easton, Pa.; ‘Distilling’ at Eight Oaks Craft Distillers in New Tripoli, Pa.; and ‘Craftsmanship’ at C.F. Martin & Co. of Nazareth, Pa. Together, the videos highlight the unique grassroots feeling and positive energy of Lehigh Valley businesses, evoking emotion and encouraging weekend visitors to come explore the region.

“We wanted to capture the passion exuded by the cities of Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton, and the craftsmen and businesses in the surrounding areas as well, and share that feeling to help draw in new visitors to the region,” said Alicia Quinn, strategic brand manager for Discover Lehigh Valley. “This Lift Your Spirits video campaign builds on our already strong marketing theme and inspires visitors to connect with not only the attractions in Lehigh Valley, but also the people and intriguing stories behind them. We are inviting viewers to fall in love with the region.”

The videos are being used as a part of a digital media campaign, which includes in-stream video advertisements and paid social media promotions targeting online users along the Mid-Atlantic. Critical to Discover Lehigh Valley’s mission of driving tourism to the region, the digital media campaign will help further Lehigh Valley’s tourism efforts, which currently generates approximately $400 million in federal, state, and local taxes, and employs nearly 23,000 people.

“Lehigh Valley is home to some truly inspiring people and businesses,” said Discover Lehigh Valley President Michael Stershic. “Our partners are proud to live and work here, and we are thrilled to highlight several of these partners to help grow tourism in the area. We look forward to continuing these promotional efforts in future campaigns.”
