Mayor Emanuel and Microsystems Announce New Global Headquarters
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) June 07, 2017 -- Mayor Rahm Emanuel and Microsystems today announced the company’s global headquarters relocation to Riverside Plaza, 300 S. Riverside Plaza, in downtown Chicago. Its new central location will be more convenient for employees and facilitate better client service through its proximity to major business events, conferences, client offices, cultural centers and transportation. The company expects to add nearly 100 new jobs by the end of 2018.
“Chicago’s talent and tech ecosystem give leading companies, such as Microsystems, the tools they need to thrive in the global economy,” Mayor Emanuel said. “I’m proud to welcome Microsystems to its new Chicago location and look forward to the insights, innovation and growth they’ll continue to bring to our thriving technology community.”
Founded in 1995, Microsystems has become a leading provider of document authoring, editing, formatting, proofreading and metadata scrubbing software serving the legal and life sciences industries. The company is relocating to Chicago from Downers Grove, Illinois, capitalizing on the new location’s scenic views of the Chicago River, numerous collaboration areas and easy access to Union Station.
“We are very excited to move to the vibrant downtown Chicago area,” said Avaneesh Marwaha, President of Microsystems. “Our team is looking forward to getting closer to the heart of the city, to our customers and becoming more immersed in the thriving Chicago technology, legal, medical and business communities.”
“Chicago’s central location, convenience and technology ecosystem are central to our city’s success as a global business leader,” said Jeff Malehorn, President and CEO of World Business Chicago. “Microsystems has a strong history of continued growth and actively uses technology to meet the needs of the industries they serve. The company represents some of the best of what Chicago has to offer businesses worldwide.”
A 2017 report from KPMG on the changing landscape of disruptive technologies ranks Chicago as one of the “Top 10 Innovation Hubs in the World.” The report recognizes the city’s educated workforce, digital innovation and growing global impact as leading technology companies such as Microsystems continue delivering effective technology and enterprise solutions that cross industries.
“In addition to the obvious business benefits, we believe this move will enhance our employees’ overall happiness and well-being,” said Brittani Shaw, Director of Human Resources for Microsystems. “As an employee-centric company, we value the importance of regenerative views and an abundance of natural light in our new office, along with being located in a walkable district with nearby public transportation, restaurants and parks.”
