Minneapolis Public Schools Selects Adolfson & Peterson Construction to Build New Adult Education Transition Plus Building
Minneapolis, Minnesota (PRWEB) June 08, 2017 -- Adolfson & Peterson Construction (AP) was awarded Minneapolis Public Schools’ (MPS) New Adult Education Transition Plus Building. Through a best-value selection, MPS chose AP to be the general contractor to build this new $24 million building. The project, located at 2005 Lake Street East, Minneapolis is anticipated to start in late June 2017.
The new Minneapolis Public School facility will house the Adult Education and Transition Plus programs currently offered at other locations. This structural steel building will be three stories and approximately 87,000 sf. It will have roughly 121 below grade parking stalls, a site plaza and approximately 39 on grade parking stalls. Site development will include street and plaza landscaping and other site improvements. Storm water retention will take place through infiltration on site.
“Our team has already hit the ground running,” stated AP Senior Preconstruction Manager, Patrick Sims. “With the project’s aggressive schedule, we are well underway – working collaboratively with MPS and UrbanWorks Architecture to ensure we break ground as anticipated in late June.”
Across the country, AP has a depth of educational experience – including K-12, higher-education, public and private. AP looks forward to furthering our sound relationship with the Minneapolis Public Schools and the City of Minneapolis. Construction is anticipated to be complete mid-October 2018.
