Greenberg Traurig’s Alice Connaughton to Speak at NY Non-Traded REIT & Retail Alternative Investment Symposium

Connaughton, shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP’s Corporate & Securities and Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) practices, will moderate a panel at the 14th Annual New York Non-Traded REIT & Retail Alternative Investment Symposium, June 12-13 at the New York Hilton Midtown. Symposium attendees include broker dealers and financial planners, as well as representatives from financial advisory firms and sponsors of public, non-traded alternative investment vehicles, including REITs and business development companies.
Connaughton will lead the panel titled, “‘Four and More?’ Standardization? - Fee Structures & Share Classes: Cross-Industry Perspectives,” at 4:45 p.m. June 12. Panelists will share their viewpoints on fee structures and share classes just over a year since FINRA 15-02 went into effect and will discuss what’s working, what’s not working, efforts towards standardization, and what to expect in the future, including a discussion of the anticipated impact of portions of the U.S. Department of Labor Fiduciary Rule taking effect on June 9.
Connaughton advises public companies, Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), and other companies in various capital markets transactions. She specifically concentrates her practice in public securities offerings and routinely advises public companies regarding public reporting requirements and corporate governance compliance. Connaughton has represented several of the leading sponsors of public, non-traded REITs in connection with more than $10 billion in public offerings.
