TRVL is releasing a new product. Anyone can now own a travel booking website, for free. The website gives access to 1.4 million hotels and vacation rentals, and commissions of up to 10% on every booking made. TRVL’s partners are Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com and TripAdvisor.
Paul English, cofounder of Kayak, founder of Lola: "Love the concept" and "TRVL is like TripAdvisor with an earning model."
Founder Jochem Wijnands: “By turning travelers into TRVL Agents and handing them a travel booking website, TRVL is breaking down the traditional barriers of the travel industry."
Already 500 websites are created with TRVL (more examples can be found on http://www.trvl.com):

TRVL is the brainchild of Jochem Wijnands, who sold his previous company Prss to Apple. Prss was the backbone Apple used to build its news aggregation app, Apple News. Wijnands started working on TRVL after returning from California, late 2015. TRVL has been in beta testing for 9 months and has launched to the public in May.
Wijnands: “TRVL is tapping into the unmatched experience and passion of thousands of travelers worldwide. By open sourcing travel and adding an earning model, we’re introducing a service level to online travel bookings that is missing today.”
TRVL’s COO is Arthur Hoffman. He is a travel industry veteran who set up businesses for Expedia in Australia, New Zealand, Japan, and India. TRVL is headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and employs 12 people.
Business model: TRVL receives a commission on every booking made through the platform, and passes on the majority share of that commission to the TRVL Agent responsible for the booking.
