Tey Por Yee & Gomif Provides Education Support for 100 Girls in Ethiopia as part of Socialpreneurship Program
New York, Washington DC (PRWEB) June 28, 2017 -- Socialpreneur can help, for example, community program Studio Samuel to create pathways and to empower at-risk girls in Africa to become self-reliant, as part of socialpreneurship social responsible program.
Girls in Ethiopia face child marriage, trafficking, child labor, and lack of access to education. Community activist Studio Samuel program provides healthcare, life skills training, and computer programming classes to prepare girls for gainful employment and careers. To date, 94% of the program students have improved academically and two students have received four-year college scholarships.
According to the program, only 16% of girls advance from primary school to secondary school and 41% of female domestic workers are ages 10-19 years in their community. 64% of Ethiopians who are unemployed in their community are women.
Angel investor & socialpreneurship activist Tey Por Yee, together with Gomif Partners, is launching the Accelerator17 2.0, a seed capital investment program through socialpreneurship crowdfunding. The first part of the program shall start with road show from New York, London, Paris, Tokyo and ends in Singapore.
Tey Por Yee (Larry) is a venture capitalist investing in businesses with socially responsible business initiatives.
