The CDLIS is formally known as the Commercial Driver’s Information System and is put out by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, where records are databased in a comprehensive computer system that enables state driver licensing agencies (SDLAs) to ensure that each commercial driver has only one driver’s license and one complete driver record.

“The CDLIS will verify a commercial’s driver’s license and will list both the state and the license number where the driver has held previous licenses,” said Gustavson. “So a trucking firm will know in about sixty seconds where the driver is illegally holding more than one license and the record history of the legitimate license he has previously maintained.”
Gustavson pointed out that Corra Group prices for the MVR is based on volume and is largely self-service. He noted how the driving records are databased in the user accounts for approximately three years and are always available and subject to review.
