U.S. Security Associates’ Vice President Rescues 80 People from Hurricane Harvey Flood Waters
ATLANTA, GEORGIA – (PRWEB) August 29, 2017 -- John McCracken, U.S. Security Associates (USA) Regional Vice President of Operations, was in his boat Monday afternoon in Houston, Texas to survey the damage of the security company’s local offices and clients. What began as a reconnaissance effort to check on the security company’s employees, local branch offices, and clients turned into a rescue mission when John saved 80 people and their pets from Hurricane Harvey’s flood waters.
John’s intent was to check the current state of the security company’s 5 local branches which provide jobs to over 3,200 employees and security solutions to 820 clients in the region impacted by Hurricane Harvey. John’s efforts quickly turned from surveying to saving. Before returning to his house threatened by the rising waters to save his own family, John saved 76 people, including 49 children, 11 dogs, and 2 cats. Once John was able to secure the safety of his family, he managed to save 4 more stranded people. His efforts were nothing short of a hero’s work while doing his job to ensure that not only the security company’s Associates were safe, but that the clients and community for which the company provides security solutions were also safe and secure.
USA and their team of Associates have been impacted by significant loss due to the extreme flooding in the area. Many Associates have been evacuated from their homes, escaping only with their lives and families. Many have been rescued, only to be displaced again due to the rising flood waters. The company, despite the horrific hardships and devastation, continues to remain operational and fully supporting its people, their clients, and the community in this time of crisis. Richard L. Wyckoff, President and CEO, said, “I am overwhelmed by the dedication and resilience of our Associates. As the stories of loss and devastation from Hurricane Harvey continue to pour in, I am heartbroken for our team and our clients who have lost so much. At the heart of our company is our mission to provide better outcomes for the people and communities we serve and these stories of our Associates, like John, who rises above personal tragedy to do heroic work is humbling. It brings me a great sense of pride to know our people are banding together in the face of this tragedy to ensure the safety of all people.”
The security company began mobilizing efforts in advance of the storm last week, shoring up their resources and preemptively organizing and distributing pay cards for their Security Officers in the storm’s direct path. Currently the teams are diligently working with local law enforcement agencies to minimize the impact and ensure resources are available. USA’s corporate headquarters in Roswell is organizing fundraising efforts to provide additional support to the teams impacted by Harvey’s direct hit and aftermath flooding.
