Today, local hot sauce connoisseur, Charlie Backer launched Hot Charlie’s Best Hot Sauce, and was featured on Fox 2 News with St. Louis news anchor icon, John Pertzborn.

Today, local hot sauce connoisseur, Charlie Backer launched Hot Charlie’s Best Hot Sauce, created and manufactured in St. Louis, MO.

“I love hot sauce and, over the years, I’ve tried sauces from around the world,” says Chief Heat Officer and Founder, Charlie Backer. “But it seemed like the focus was to just make sauces hotter and hotter to the point that they overpowered the entire dish. There had to be a balance.”

Originally, Backer created Hot Charlie’s to serve to friends and family at holiday events or parties. Soon, word got out and Backer was receiving requests from people across the country. He knew he had a hit.

Hot Charlie’s is made with a unique blend of peppers, vinegar, spices and real garlic and manufactured in the St. Louis area. Backer created the recipe to be perfect as a condiment or as an ingredient to add spice to any recipe from hamburgers and wings to sauces and potato salad.

“People love that they can add it to ANY recipe,” Backer continues, “we’ve heard of folks using it for the traditional dishes like hot wings, but also using it in everything from side dishes like potato salad to adding it as an ingredient for scrambled eggs or meatballs to pouring it on corn on the cob.”
