ForRent.com Logs 46% Mobile & 27% Total Traffic Increase in Last Year
Norfolk, Virginia (PRWEB) August 31, 2017 -- ForRent.com®, a key player in the multifamily industry for more than three decades, has achieved a dramatic 46% year-over-year and 29% month-over-month growth in mobile-exclusive visits to its apartment listing site as well as 27% year-over-year and 21% month-over-month increases in unique visitor overall traffic, according to comScore’s July 2017 report. The strong performance was driven in part by an initiative to optimize the mobile experience for the nearly two-thirds of apartment seekers to ForRent.com who are searching on mobile.
That initiative involved implementing a mobile-first strategy across all five listing services operating under the company’s umbrella, including ForRent.com®, ForRentUniversity.com®, CorporateHousing.com™, AFTER55.com® and ForRent.com en Español. The company moved all five sites to responsive design that enables easy viewing of all listing details and images on both desktop and mobile devices, and also became the first in the multifamily sector to adopt Accelerated Mobile Pages (AMP) that speed mobile image loading from a search engine results page.
These changes benefit property managers by making it easy for consumers to use their mobile devices when apartment hunting on any of ForRent.com’s listing services. They also play a role in improving a given property’s search rankings, since Google places a priority on fast, mobile-friendly, responsive web pages in generating search results and is preparing to transition to a new indexing system that will primarily use the mobile version of a site’s content in ranking pages.
ForRent.com has also implemented an array of other advanced search engine optimization techniques under the leadership of new Vice President of Search Simon Heseltine that have contributed to the steady growth in site traffic over the past year.
“Every apartment community is looking for ways to increase visibility, retain residents and build their brands. Our technology, social and marketing teams dedicate themselves to helping customers meet these goals on a daily basis,” said Terry Slattery, President of ForRent.com. “This new comScore performance data is a direct result of those efforts and a strong signal to property managers about the importance of the work we’re doing behind the scenes to support their needs.”
