Clarus Glassboards Challenges Design Industry to Team Up For Hurricane Harvey Relief
Houston, Texas (PRWEB) September 07, 2017 -- Clarus Glassboards, an industry-leading manufacturer of glass markerboards headquartered in Fort Worth, TX, in association with Interior Design magazine, launched a dollar-for-dollar fundraiser within the design community to help victims of Hurricane Harvey. Clarus has set up a donation website through Crowdrise, http://www.crowdrise.com/clarusharveyrelief and has pledged to match every dollar donated until their $250,000 goal is reached.
“Our company has close ties to the Houston community, with many of our employees and their families from Houston. We feel that it is our duty to not only respond to this disaster, but to challenge our peers in the design industry to gather together and do something about it on a large scale,” states Jeremy Rincon, Co-Founder of Clarus and Houston-native. “We’re grateful to Interior Design, the voice of our industry, who stepped up to support our efforts. Without hesitation, they dove in and allowed us to use their platforms as a megaphone for good.”
Several Clarus employees stepped up to help Hurricane Harvey victims personally. Clarus President, Andrew Philipp, said, “We deployed a large number of our staff to Houston to partnering with local charities and help in the cleanup and recovery. While it’s only the beginning of the restoration period for Houston, we plan to be there for them for the long-term.”
In addition to setting up a Crowdrise page, the company hosted a diaper and baby clothing drive for families with “tiny Texans” in desperate need. Clarus, a company that still employs Hurricane Katrina refugees, is also recruiting Hurricane Harvey refugees with opportunities to work at the company.
From monetary and physical goods donations, to opening employment opportunities and doing cleanup, Clarus plans to be there for the city of Houston long-term, practicing servanthood and care for our Houston neighbors.
