RoverPass is Providing Hurricane Harvey Evacuees with Discounted Campground Rates
Austin, TX (PRWEB) September 03, 2017 -- RoverPass, the leading free directory of RV parks and campgrounds, is connecting victims of Hurricane Harvey with nearby campgrounds offering heavily discounted rates. After reaching out to RV park owners who work with the campground reservation business, they received a prompt and inspiring response. Close to twenty parks responded within hours, several of them offering campsites for free to evacuees.
The RoverPass isn’t built for offering free bookings, so in lieu of waiving the service fees the company has provided the direct lines to all campgrounds that agreed to offer free or heavily discounted prices. All callers have to do to get the discount is mention they’re an evacuee.
Ravi Parikh, the CEO, said this issue hit “too close to home” for him, motivating him to create a fast solution to the problem. “I have family living in Houston who are currently trapped inside their house with water surrounding them on all sides. The number of people displaced is already over 50,000 and still rising, and I knew the RV community could help,” he said.
The solution he came up with allows evacuees who own RVs with a way to find spots for dirt cheap, and it doesn’t stop there. The company is also teaming up with some of the other top players in the RV industry to provide discounted RVs for rent. This gives evacuees who don’t own RVs an additional temporary housing option.
RoverPass encourages any campgrounds near the Gulf Coast that are willing to offer discounts to fill out this form. New reduced rate listings are added as RoverPass receives them.
