The Hug Group Hires Vanessa Fell as Director of Education Strategy and Industry Relations
Dartford, Kent (PRWEB UK) 5 September 2017 -- The Hug Group is delighted to announce that Vanessa Fell has joined the company as its new Director of Education Strategy and Industry Relations. Based in their Dartford headquarters, Vanessa will oversee strategy for The Hug Group’s unique school focussed child tracking technology IoT product, ClassHug, and manage industry relations across the education sector.
Vanessa has over 20 years of experience in education within EYFS and KS1 including being Nursery Coordinator, Early Years Teacher and the SENDco (Special Educational Needs and Disability coordinator) at a leading independent school in Surrey.
Vanessa has been a leading advocate of learning outside of the classroom both on and off site and her dedication and passion for outside learning drove her to begin educating other education leaders on the subject. Vanessa firmly believes that children benefit hugely from being allowed to take calculated risks, explore their environment and use their creativity by creating role play situations as they investigate an abundance of natural recourses that are around them.
Through Vanessa’s continuous drive and enthusiasm for outdoor learning she created the ‘Woodland School sessions' at her school in Surrey a number of years ago. This was a fantastic opportunity for the Early Years and KS1 to experience and senior colleagues soon realised and understood the importance of learning outside and parents noted how their children flourished and grew in confidence as they were allowed to explore the real world outside of the classroom.
Andy Davies, CEO and Co-Founder of The Hug Group, said: “We are hugely excited to welcome Vanessa into The Hug Group team. She brings with her a wealth of experience of planning and leading school trips, preparing risk policies, driving innovation in and out of the classroom and working with school SLTs, this makes her a very valuable addition to the company.
The incredible market response to our recently launched child protection and teacher stress-reducing solution has created the need to add to the team someone who dovetails into our ethos of innovation. It is very fortunate that were able to find someone with Vanessa’s passion for learning to fulfil this role”.
Vanessa Fell, added: “I’m enormously thrilled about joining The Hug Group. Given the renewed drive from OFSTED to increase the provision of school trips while taking a more measured approach to child protection, there is a huge gap in the market for technology to help teachers know where every member of their class is every second they’re out of the classroom without smothering the children. The Hug Group is perfectly positioned to meet the needs of these schools.”

About The Hug Group
Launched in January 2017, The Hug Group is a new technology company specialising in the electronic tracking of people.
Our education focussed product, ClassHug, is the only solution available for schools to let teachers automatically track the whereabouts of their entire class on their iPad or iPhone, with capabilities to track up to 250 children at the same time. The teacher receives immediate alerts should a child stray or wander outside of the user defined area. The teacher can then call the child back before they go from being a wandering child to a lost child. This frees up the teachers to spend more of their time being a teacher and educating their class, with less time being a shepherd worrying about them wandering off and getting lost.
