Dr. Lindsey Hunter-Ellul Joins U.S. Dermatology Partners Tyler Office on September 14
Tyler, Texas (PRWEB) September 06, 2017 -- Dr. Lindsey Hunter-Ellul is joining the Tyler office of U.S. Dermatology Partners, formerly Dermatology Associates, following two years in private practice in the Houston/Clear Lake area. Hunter-Ellul, a board-certified dermatologist and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, is thrilled to be a part of the Tyler community and closer to family.
She received her undergraduate degree with honors at the University of Texas at Austin, with a Bachelor of Science in psychology and minor in biology. She then attended the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston for medical school. Dr. Hunter-Ellul went on to complete her internal medicine internship and dermatology residency at UTMB.
She has served on several committees for the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and Texas Dermatological Society and was the physician editor for the AAD Directions in Residency newsletter. Dr. Hunter-Ellul has worked as a dermatologist in private practice in the Houston/Clear Lake area since 2015. She is also a clinical assistant professor of dermatology with UTMB, training and mentoring medical students.
Dr. Hunter-Ellul has been interested in the field of dermatology almost all of her life. Her family has been affected by skin cancer, and she pursued a job at her own dermatologist’s office in high school. She was hired immediately and has been focused on research and patient care ever since. Dr. Hunter-Ellul enjoys working with communities to promote sun protection and skin cancer awareness by volunteering at health fairs, participating in Miles for Melanoma walks, and providing skin cancer screenings. She is particularly interested in treating skin cancer, psoriasis, acne, aging skin, and hair loss.
“It’s an honor and a privilege to educate and treat patients for their skin conditions — and to help them cope with the emotional component of chronic skin disease,” says Dr. Hunter-Ellul. “I especially enjoy when we find a treatment plan that best manages or alleviates their condition so their skin concerns can take a back seat in their everyday lives.”
Dr. Hunter-Ellul looks forward to getting involved in the Tyler community. She and her husband have two young children, and they enjoy photography as a shared hobby.
