Quality Insights Encourages All Physician Practices to Sign Up for MIPS and Quality Payment Program (QPP) Support
(PRWEB) September 11, 2017 -- Since its launch earlier this year, more than 1,000 clinicians have signed up to receive free, CMS-funded QPP technical assistance from Quality Insights. As the end of the calendar year approaches, clinicians are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity before the last 90 day reporting period of 2017 begins on October 2.
“Now is the optimal time for clinicians to take advantage of Quality Insights’ no-cost assistance,” Kathy Wild, QPP Support Center Director said. “We can help them achieve first-year requirements and avoid the 4% Medicare Part B penalty that results from not participating.”
All Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) eligible clinicians in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia can receive support from Quality Insights. According to Wild, clinicians in small practices that have 15 or fewer clinicians and those in rural areas are finding the greatest benefit.
“An initial evaluation of the Quality Payment Program showed that small practices would need the most help to succeed,” Wild said. “Now that we have begun the work, we can see firsthand that due to the complexities of the new payment program and the limited time and resources that small practices have to devote to preparing for the transition, the assistance we are able to provide is vital to these practices. It is our goal to help small, rural and undeserved practices survive, thrive and provide quality care during this big transition.”
