PALMco Energy Gives $2,500 to the Houston Food Bank for Hurricane Harvey Relief Efforts and Establishes Additional Matching Fund Mobilecause Site
Brooklyn, NY (PRWEB) September 07, 2017 -- PALMco Energy, a family-owned and operated energy supply company, announced today a donation of $2,500 to the Houston Food Bank to support the Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. In addition to their direct donation, PALMco Energy launched a matching donations mobilecause site pledging to match dollar for dollar, up to $1,500, all contributions to the Houston Food Bank relief efforts.
Based in Brooklyn, NY, PALMco Energy, and many of the energy company’s customers, were impacted by the devastation of Super Storm Sandy in 2012. PALMco recognizes that the severity of Hurricane Harvey requires that all Americans come together to provide necessary relief to impacted families, support ongoing first responder recovery and relief efforts, and to begin to rebuild in the wake of the disaster.
“We remember the great devastation wrought by Sandy five years ago and our hearts go out to every individual and family forced to endure Harvey, in Texas, Louisiana and elsewhere along the Gulf. Our hope is that our donation can in some small way help jumpstart the rebuilding efforts and give hope to those communities so greatly affected,” said Robert Palmese, President of PALMco Energy. “As a family run business, we understand the importance of investing not only in our immediate communities, but in our nation by ensuring that we lend a hand to those suffering. That is why we are calling on all our customers, neighbors, and communities to join our effort and donate what you can to help ongoing recovery and relief efforts.”
Shortly after the greatest intensity of Harvey more than 600 people across the region signed up and flocked to the Houston Food Bank Portwall Warehouse headquarters, at 535 Portwall Street, to help in the distribution of food and supplies to shelters across the city and the region. According to HFB employees, the outpouring of support within and beyond the community has raised spirits and showcased the resilience of Americans. Hurricane Harvey is already one of the worst storms to impact the United States and is expected to inflict damages exceeding $90 billion.
