Ontario’s Minister of Education Says Canada’s Success Stems from Strong Collaboration By All The Stakeholders
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 11, 2017 -- In a new interview with CMRubinWorld, the Minister of Education in Ontario, Canada stresses the importance of collaboration and a common goal when attempting to build successful schools. “Ontario’s education system is successful because of our partnerships with educators – when we build and innovate together, we achieve outstanding results for students,” says Honorable Mitzie Hunter, MPP. “It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes collaboration and a diversity of ideas to build a stronger education system for our next generation of leaders.”
When asked by C.M. Rubin what curricula Ontario views as relevant for a changing world, Hunter noted that Ontario has taken bold steps “to expand a child’s ability to problem solve, collaborate, think creatively, become financially literate and entrepreneurial, and build a better world by contributing to their community locally while thinking globally.” She adds, “If we don’t do this, we’re not helping today’s learners become tomorrow’s leaders.”
Prior to becoming Minister of Education and MPP for Scarborough-Guildwood in Ontario, Canada, Hunter served as Associate Minister of Finance. She is the former CEO of the Greater Toronto Civic Action Alliance, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) of Toronto Community Housing Corporation, and Vice-President with Goodwill Industries. After emigrating from Jamaica in 1975, Hunter received her B.A. from the University of Toronto and her MBA from the Rotman School of Management.
