Greenfield Senior Living of Berryville to be honored for its support of Art Without Boundaries® in and outside their community
Berryville, VA (PRWEB) September 11, 2017 -- Art Without Boundaries® is a nationally known innovative, multi-modality arts program helping seniors and all ages with cognitive or physical disabilities experience the joy of learning something new and feeling a sense of joy and pride in the process. To mark the 4 year anniversary of this program at Greenfield of Berryville, Catherine Fetterman, Virginia's first Certified MnemeTherapist and member of the Art Without Boundaries Association, will be honoring their staff and residents during National Assisted Living Week with a special celebration and 45 minute presentation at Greenfield of Berryville. This event will take place on September 14th at 1:45 p.m, and all are welcome. Following the celebration, Ms. Fetterman will be giving an interactive presentation about the art of Norman Rockwell, using his paintings to celebrate the theme of National Assisted Living Week: "Families are Forever".
“Greenfield's support and leadership has made it possible for all of their residents, as well as many others in the surrounding communities, to experience and learn about the gift of this life-enriching program. As our country looks to remember our seniors during National Assisted Living Week, I thought it would be a great time to celebrate what their residents have made, and the impact Greenfield's support of this program is having near and far.” – Catherine Fetterman
About the Art Without Boundaries Association
Art Without Boundaries Association (AWBA) is a national, non-profit 501(c)(3) professional association dedicated to bringing joy, hope and healing to seniors and all ages with cognitive or physical disabilities through a multi-arts program called Art Without Boundaries®. Art Without Boundaries® uses a process called MnemeTherapy® which incorporates singing, cross-lateral movements, directed painting, storytelling and lots of praise! It inspires hope, fosters creativity, calms anxieties, nurtures and stimulates memory, encourages life-long learning and discovery, helps counteract depression, instills a deep sense of joy and pride, boosts self-esteem, promotes movement and strengthens mental focus. An ever growing number of compassionate artists throughout the country now share AWBA's mission by making this program and therapy available in their communities, and by training other qualified artists to become Certified MnemeTherapists. Their complimentary approach to health and wellness uses the arts as a vehicle for stimulating the brain's neuroplasticity, and bringing joy to people who never thought they could paint. There are currently about 40 certified practitioners.
