HarperCollins Publishers Signs Six-Book Deal With Margaret Peterson Haddix
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 08, 2017 -- New York, NY (September 8, 2017) – HarperCollins Publishers announced today that it has acquired North American rights for OUTLIERS, an enthralling new three-book middle grade series by New York Times bestselling author Margaret Peterson Haddix. An additional three untitled books, beyond the OUTLIERS series, have also been signed. The deal was negotiated by Katherine Tegen, Vice President and Publisher, Katherine Tegen Books, with Tracey Adams of Adams Literary.
OUTLIERS is an action-packed adventure series for middle grade readers about three children – Finn, Emma, and Chess Greystone – and a mystery that unravels when their mother leaves them for an unexpected business trip. The children begin to wonder why she has left them and discover a series of bizarre texts, secret messages in code, and a hidden room that just might be a portal into an alternate world.
The first book in the OUTLIERS series is set to publish in Winter 2019, with the subsequent books publishing in Winter 2020 and Winter 2021.
“I’m thrilled with this opportunity to work with Katherine Tegen and HarperCollins to share new stories with readers,” says Haddix. “I have such respect for Katherine, her amazing imprint, and HarperCollins for their commitment to high-quality books.”
“I couldn’t be more honored to become Margaret’s editor and publisher,” says Tegen. “She’s an elegant writer with an impressive track record, and I look forward to working with her on the creation of more page-turning fiction for our most perceptive audience: children.”
