Redwoods Design Studio Completes Sunnyside’s C Clearly Optical Store Renovation
New York, NY (PRWEB) September 10, 2017 -- Redwoods Design Studio announces completion of its design- build renovation for C Clearly, an optical store located at 4814 Skillman Avenue in Sunnyside, Queens. Previously home to a bank and a home decoration boutique, the gut renovation posed an interesting challenge because of a 5’x5’x5’ depository safe weighed as much as 350 pounds that must be removed to capture the storefront space. C Clearly owner and optometrist Christa Cavallaro announced the grand opening of the store, which includes both retail and exam rooms, will be in the Fall of this year.
“C Clearly on Skillman is a good example of how a small community within a big city can bring people together,” says Eric Lam, principal of Redwoods Design Studio. “Working with an architect, especially for a boutique firm that understands this and is passionate about building an intimate and vibrant community, gives additional support to the enterprise.”
Dubbed “Mayberry near Manhattan” by the New York Times, Sunnyside corresponds to the ZIP code 11104 and is known for its friendly people and ability to rally around community issues. The well-known Sunnyside Gardens Historic District is one of the first planned communities in the U.S., located primarily north of Skillman Avenue.
Founded in 2006 as Lam McGowan Architecture+Design, Redwoods Design Studio is emerging as a leading multi-discipline architecture, design and planning firm based in the New York Metropolitan Area and serving the tri-state area.
