Winning Basketball Coach Moves into New Administrative Position

Oaks Christian School is pleased to announce the appointment of Kristy Hopkins as the new middle school athletic director, replacing outgoing director Kirstyn Atkinson who is relocating out of Southern California this fall.

For the past two years, Hopkins has served as the OCS girls varsity head basketball coach, and as the school-wide basketball program director for both boys and girls basketball and the golf and tennis programs. Additionally, for the past year, Hopkins has served as the high school athletic coordinator.

In addition to her new duties as the middle school athletic director, she will remain as the high school girls’ varsity head basketball coach for the 2017-18 season. Hopkins came to Oaks Christian School from California Lutheran University where she served as the head coach for the women's basketball program for seven years. In addition, Hopkins has extensive experience in coaching golf and other sports.
