New Ventura County Business Helps Seniors, Families Through Transitions
(PRWEB) September 12, 2017 -- When Kevin Hatcher lost three loved ones around the same time, he was inspired to do two things – spend more time with his family and create a local resource for people facing a life transition. Now he’s pleased to announce he’s doing both of those things with his new business, Caring Transitions of Ventura County.
Caring Transitions’ specially trained team can handle organizing, packing, de-cluttering, moving, resettling, in-person and online estate sales, liquidations, and preparing homes for market. Caring Transitions is America’s largest resource for managing senior relocations, but the services are also perfect for busy families and individuals in need of assistance. Caring Transitions of Ventura County will serve all of Ventura County, including Camarillo, Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park, Somis and the surrounding communities.
“I lost my grandmother, my mom and my godson all in a very short period of time and it caused me to rethink my priorities. I was working 60 to 80 hours a week and not spending nearly enough time with my family. We decided to move back to my hometown – I grew up here – and I’ve been teaching part-time at the University of California at Santa Barbara alongside the launch of our new Caring Transitions business,” Hatcher said.
Hatcher is a minority entrepreneur who has spent the last 23 years as a university administrator, director of athletics and faculty member. He holds three degrees – a B.A. from the University of California at Santa Barbara, a M.S. from the University of Michigan and a Doctorate in Education from the University of Texas at El Paso. He’s also a certified administrator for adult residential facilities. Hatcher is launching this business with the support of his wife, Doreen, and their three children, Jasmine, Ellis and Jacqueline.
Also, Hatcher knows a few things about the challenges of clearing an estate – especially when you don’t live nearby or, in his case, when you live across the country.
“My mom lived in Myrtle Beach when she passed away and we were living in California. I’m the youngest of three, but I was in charge of clearing out her house. I basically drove a U-Haul across the country, packed what I could and took the rest to Goodwill. I seriously regret that I didn’t have more time or a resource to help me go through her house and decide what to keep, what to sell and what to donate. I knew there had to be a better way and that’s how I found Caring Transitions,” Hatcher said. “We are a one-stop solution for all your transition needs.”
Whether your situation is planned or unexpected, Caring Transitions’ services are perfect for seniors moving in with family or into a safer living situation as well as busy families and people clearing out the home of a loved one who has passed. All of Caring Transitions’ services are customizable, so clients only pay for the services they need – whether that means managing the entire move and estate-clearing or just getting someone resettled into their new place.
“I truly want to be a resource for the people in my community. I want people to know that I understand what you’re going through and I can help, even if it’s just to help you brainstorm about your next steps. If Caring Transitions can help, great, but if not, I’m building a network of trusted partners and I’ll be happy to send you their way. I want to make sure you have everything you need to make your transitions as smooth and stress-free as possible,” Hatcher said.
