Revised SAE International Standard Establishes Requirements Aerospace Delegated Product Release Verification Personnel
(PRWEB) September 13, 2017 -- SAE International announces the publication of AS13001A: Delegated Product Release Verification Training Requirements.
This revised standard establishes the common requirements for training of Delegated Product Release Verification (DPRV) personnel for use at all levels of the aerospace engine supply chain. This standard shall apply when an organization elects to delegate product release verification by contractual flow down to its suppliers and to perform product acceptance on its behalf.
This standard was designed to align with and complement the recently published SAE AS9117 Aerospace Standard, “Delegated Product Release Verification,” by defining more specifically its DPRV training requirements.
“With the release of AS13001A, the AESQ continues to build on industry standards like AS9117. By simplifying and standardizing around DPRV, we drive down supplier cost and help ensure supplier compliance,” said Earl Capozzi, AS13001A Document Sponsor.
While the common DPRV training material was primarily developed for aerospace engine supply chain requirements, the standard and its common training may also be used in other aerospace industry sectors where the DPRV process can be of benefit.
The SAE G-22 AESQ Committee and the IAQG/SAE G-14 AAQSC Committee worked together cooperatively to ensure proper alignment of these standards.
