Spring Arbor University ranks as top-tier Midwest Regional University in U.S. News and World Report’s Best Colleges
Spring Arbor, Mich. (PRWEB) September 12, 2017 -- U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 “Best Colleges” rankings reveal Spring Arbor University (SAU) as a top-tier Midwest Regional University, making 2018 the ninth consecutive year that SAU has been named as top-tier by U.S. News. Used in the assessment of the university, SAU’s freshman retention and graduation rates showed improvement over the previous year’s scores. This ranking places SAU among 88 other top-tier Midwestern universities. Additionally, SAU was named as one of the Best Colleges for Veterans and Best Value Schools in the region.
SAU president Dr. Brent Ellis believes that this ranking reflects the SAU community’s effort to keep the SAU Concept central to all that they do, saying, “At Spring Arbor University, our aim is to prepare students to be more than just professionals. Within our intentional community of learners, students are encouraged to become vibrant Christians, master learners, and global participants. This ranking affirms the dedication of our faculty and staff to that end.”
U.S. News and World Report uses a unique methodology to rank schools, weighing categories such as peer assessment, retention and graduation rates, faculty and financial resources, student selectivity and alumni giving. For consideration within the rankings of Regional Universities, schools must offer a full range of undergraduate programs as well as some master’s programs.
Located in Spring Arbor, Michigan, Spring Arbor University provides its students with a liberal arts education grounded in the Wesleyan tradition of the Free Methodist Church. Encouraging students to lead lives of wisdom, the university offers opportunities for associate, bachelor’s and master’s degrees, as well as degree completion programs, at sites throughout Michigan and Ohio.
