Christie Medical Christie Medical Holdings to Display Market-leading Vein Finding Technology at ENA 2017
ENA/ST. LOUIS (PRWEB) September 19, 2017 -- Christie® Medical Holdings will be displaying VeinViewer®, the leading near infrared vein finding technology, at the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) annual conference in St. Louis from September 14-15th.
In fast-paced emergency environments, the ability to make accurate assessments is paramount. Emergency nurses attending ENA will see how VeinViewer can reduce the time taken to start an IV and reduce the number of stick attempts on a patient.
“Nurses come into contact with all types of patients, and many factors including trauma, hypertension and blood loss can contribute to difficult venous access,” says George Pinho, president, Christie Medical Holdings. “VeinViewer assists nurses in overcoming these obstacles by aiding in determining the best venipuncture site to avoid potential complications.”
VeinViewer technology uses near infrared (NIR) light to create a real-time digital image of patient’s veins on the skin, allowing nurses to see peripheral veins up to 10mm deep, while also locating valves and bifurcations. The 2016 Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice recognizes vein visualization as a standard of care because of the impact NIR imaging has in making a more informed decision regarding IV access. In post-assessment procedures, nurses can assess the patency of the vessel to help avoid complications.
Attendees to ENA 2017 will see the VeinViewer Vision2 and VeinViewer Flex at the Christie Medical booth, number 1513, with staff members on hand to answer questions.
