Imagine Math Students Donate to Hurricane Irma Relief in Record Time
Provo, UT (PRWEB) September 18, 2017 -- Imagine Learning, developer of the widely respected Imagine Math digital curriculum, announced today that Imagine Math students throughout the country earned enough math points in just four days to donate $5,000 to the American Red Cross Hurricane Irma Relief Fund—only a week after donating to Hurricane Harvey relief.
“Imagine Math students had just finished donating on behalf of Harvey victims—and once they learned that they could also contribute to the Red Cross for Hurricane Irma, they responded in record time,” said Lisa Wise, manager of motivation at Imagine Learning. “Normally, it might take up to a month for students to accrue enough math points to reach this particular dollar amount. But in this instance, our students solved over 535,000 math problems in just four days, which is both astonishing and inspiring.”
As students work through Imagine Math lessons, they may choose to apply their earned points toward meeting classroom goals, personalizing their avatars, or giving to charitable organizations such as the American Red Cross, St. Jude Children’s Hospitals, No Child Hungry, and many others. By so doing, Imagine Math students can build their conceptual understanding of math while gaining a greater empathy for the needs of others.
And now, thanks to the generosity of Imagine Math students on behalf of Irma victims, the American Red Cross can strengthen their ability to care for those in hardest-hit areas throughout the southeastern U.S. and beyond.
