“The Foggy Road to Moorwick”: the adventures of a young Scottish girl yearning to see the world. “The Foggy Road to Moorwick” is the creation of published author, Jeanine Liston, a busy mother of five who used her time waiting for children to finish their extracurricular activities to write.

“I have been writing this book for over twenty years. It was a way to give some meaning to the hours I waited for one or the other of my five children while they had music lessons, religious lessons, sports practice, or other important events. I always loved the mystery of where roads lead and as my children traveled to adulthood, I traveled with Margaret McNaughton, the Scottish girl in my story. I have published other children’s books and also a memoir of my mother’s Minnesota hometown. This journey was written in foggy weather and sunshine and often, I was carried away from the modern day problems and distractions my children faced as they grew to adulthood. It was a magical way that there always seems to be a happy ending that I wanted for Margaret and my own that kept me writing.” --Jeanine Liston

Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Jeanine Liston’s new book recounts the adventure of Margaret and her quest to the see the world.

Margaret’s yearning to see the world was not easy to imagine back in the late 1880s. It was a difficult, dangerous, and unpopular path. Her disabled father, as well as her own standards for right and wrong, always stopped her from leaving. Margaret must, however, overcome the obstacles in her life to start her journey. If her dreams are to come true, she will have come to an understanding with brother Donal.

Along the way, she will learn more about her fellow villagers, including Tove McCollum, who was once thought to be a witch. Young Reverend Thompson and mysterious Reverend Will McDorn, who have come from Moorwic to vie for the position of Vicar, will change her life. Her journey will be terrifying at times and humorous at others, but it is a magical story of adventure and true love.
