The Shelter Group and Brightview Senior Living announced today that Doug Dollenberg, Jr. has joined the company's executive team as President, based at the Home Office in Baltimore, Maryland. Concurrent with the addition of Mr. Dollenberg to the current senior leadership team, Marilynn K. Duker, President of both companies, has been named Chief Executive Officer. Arnold I. Richman remains Chairman of The Shelter Group and Brightview Senior Living.

"We foresee continued planned growth for Brightview Senior Living well into the future," states Ms. Duker. "By adding Doug to our executive team, we continue to develop our next generation of leadership."

A native of Baltimore, Mr. Dollenberg graduated from Bucknell University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, and earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business. He was an engineer at Whitman, Requardt and Associates before becoming a consultant at McKinsey & Company. Mr. Dollenberg most recently served on the executive leadership team at TESSCO in Hunt Valley, Maryland, where he led the commercial product management organization for this value-added distributor of wireless products and solutions.

"While Doug's specific work experience is in a field very different from ours, we quickly became convinced that he has all the right capabilities, attributes, and cultural values to help lead Brightview Senior Living into our next phase of growth," adds Ms. Duker. "We believe strongly that the culture we've created at Brightview is the main driver of the excellent service we provide to our residents."

Since the first Brightview Senior Living opened in Bel Air, MD in 1999, the company now operates thirty-three senior living communities – with more under construction – from Virginia to Massachusetts. Brightview offers apartment homes in independent living, assisted living, and Wellspring Village®, a specialized dementia care neighborhood.

"I am thrilled to join the incredibly talented team at Brightview Senior Living," says Mr. Dollenberg. "Brightview has a long-standing reputation for providing quality care to seniors, and I am eager to be a part of this special company."
