Company formerly known as AlignMD resumes ED management following Aristo exit

After a two-year hiatus, American Physician Partners has resumed management of the emergency departments for Regional Medical Center, which operates Northeast Alabama Regional Medical Center and Jacksonville Medical Center.

“The fact is, we were in a difficult situation and APP came through for us,” says Louis Bass, chief executive officer for Regional Medical Center. “They immediately responded to our needs, and helped orchestrate a swift and seamless transition.”

RMC canceled its contract with its previous ED management company after the company failed to pay its doctors, physician assistants and nurse practitioners. The company, Aristo ER, took over the management contract from APP in 2015, when APP was known as AlignMD. The new multi-year contract began at midnight on July 19, approximately 45 days after RMC initially contacted APP.

“We want to be known as the ‘best in class’ ED management company, not just a staffing company,” says Tony Briningstool, MD, senior vice president and chief medical officer for APP. “The staffs at Northeast Alabama and RMC Jacksonville are ‘best in class’ to begin with. We’re delighted to resume our work with them.”
